Most cities of any size have that one special place where the essence of the local spirit is captured and passed on to new generations. A place where out-of-town visitors upon returning home say “If you want to know that town, visit that place.” In Tacoma, Washington, that place is Meconi’s Pub & Eatery.

Located right downtown in the oldest building on one of the city’s oldest blocks is a local Tacoma pub which boasts a true Tacoma atmosphere—part working class grit and part unabashed optimism for the future. Oh, and the food and drinks are pretty good, too. (Must be 21, no minors allowed.)

Visa, MasterCard, American Express and debit cards accepted. Please no checks. Call for Take Out: (253) 383-3388

We’re in the Book!

Meconi’s Pub & Eatery is proud to be one of only two Tacoma establishments featured in the just published Good Beer Guide West Coast USA byGood Beer Guide West Coast USA: Including Las Vegas, Alaska and Hawaii Ben McFarland and Tom Sandham.

This authoritative and entertaining guide to the breweries, brewpubs, and bars of the West Coast, Alaska, and Hawaii, is written by two experienced British beer writers who have spent considerable time traveling in the U.S. and developing an infectious enthusiasm for our exciting beers and brewing scene. Also included are sections on West Coast history, American brewing, and the story of the brewpub.

We currently have a single copy at the bar for you to peruse and we will shortly have some extra copies available for sale as well. In the meantime, if you need your own copy of this must-have book for beer lovers right now... follow this link to Amazon.com.

Come See Our 1922 Tacoma Panorama

What’s 86-years old, almost 12-feet long, and hangs out in a bar? Why it’s our 1922 Tacoma Panorama photograph, of course. This spectacular view of downtown Tacoma and Commencement Bay was taken from atop the Washington Building on Pacific Ave. looking north towards Browns Point.

Come on in to Meconi’s, have a beer, or some wine or sprits and spend some time looking over this unique piece of Tacoma history. Who knows, maybe that’s your great-granddaddy there crossing Pacific Avenue.
