A place where out-of-town visitors upon returning home say “If you want to know that town, visit that place.” In Tacoma, Washington, that place is Meconi’s Pub & Eatery.
Located right downtown in the oldest building on one of the city’s oldest blocks is a local Tacoma pub which boasts a true Tacoma atmosphere—part working class grit and part unabashed optimism for the future. Oh, and the food and drinks are pretty good, too. (Must be 21, no minors allowed.)

Meet Me at Meconi’s
Meconi’s Pub & Eatery is easy to find at 709 Pacific Avenue in Downtown Tacoma (just across the street from the Old City 
Hall clock tower). Meconi’s has FREE on-street parking or you can catch the FREE Tacoma light rail link at any station!
We are open every day at 11:00 am for lunch and offer a popular 3-hour Happy Hour from 3:00 – 6:00 pm. (See our Happy Hour page for details on our Happy Hour food and drink specials.)
Located just two blocks from Tacoma’s Theater District, Meconi’s is a great place to meet before and after shows at the Pantages or Rialto Theaters, Theatre on the Square, or the Temple theater and ballroom. A short light rail link connects Meconi’s to the Greater Tacoma Convention & Trade Center (Hotel Murano/Courtyard by Marriott) as well as the Tacoma Museum District, the University of Washington Tacoma campus, and the Tacoma Dome.

Ahoy! Tall Sips is Here!
No, that’s not a typo. Tall Sips is the new specialty blonde ale from Boundary Bay Brewing Company. Boundary Bay brewed this easy drinking ale to celebrate Tall Ships 2008 in Tacoma for the 4th of July weekend. You can get it now at Meconi’s Pub & Eatery.
Does EASY DRINKING sound good to you. It does to us. We’ve been enjoying this smooth ale while lounging in our beer garden out front. But you could just as easily enjoy Tall Sips Blonde Ale inside Meconi’s while watching the sports action on one of our new HD flat panel displays. Did we mention that we have new HD flat panel displays? Well … we do! Come on in for baseball and soccer playing now and get ready for football this Fall.

You already know that Meconi’s Pub & Eatery is one of Tacoma’s favorite hot spots, 
but did you know that we are also one of Tacoma’s favorite FREE Wi-Fi Hot Spots, too. Yes, it’s true. Enjoy your favorite beverage at your favorite pub AND access the internet at the same time!
Our free Wi-Fi is available ALL hours. However, we recommend afternoons from 1:30 – 3:30 as your best time to enjoy this free service (between the lunch rush and Happy Hour crowd). Happy Hour starts at 3:00 so you can take advantage of reduced food and drink prices while you surf, blog, or shop.

What’s 86-years old, almost 12-feet long, and hangs out in a bar? Why it’s our 1922 Tacoma Panorama photograph, of course. This spectacular view of downtown Tacoma and Commencement Bay was taken from atop the Washington Building on Pacific Ave. looking north towards Browns Point.
Come on in to Meconi’s, have a beer, or some wine or sprits and spend some time looking over this unique piece of Tacoma history. Who knows, maybe that’s your great-granddaddy there crossing Pacific Avenue.
